Atsuo Yamada has been a professor at the University of Tokyo since 2009, directing multidisciplinary research on materials for energy storage and conversion. After 13 years of service as a staff scientist and laboratory head of Sony Research Center from 1990, he was appointed as an associate professor at Tokyo Institute of Technology in 2002, a full professor of the University of Tokyo in 2009.
