Holger Dau received his doctoral degree in Kiel, worked in Berkeley and Marburg, and since 2000, he is in Berlin. His group at Freie Univ. Berlin (Dept. of Physics) uses X-ray spectroscopy and complementary methods to investigate catalysis at biological and synthetic metal sites, with focus on water-oxidation in biological photosynthesis and artificial systems for production of solar fuels.
