Albert Tarancón is Head of the Nanoionics and Fuel Cells Group at the Catalonia Institute for Energy Research (IREC) since 2010. His interest concerns nanomaterials for alternative energy technologies and their applicability in portable devices and synthetic fuel production. Currently holds an ERC-Consolidator Grant on the development of micro Solid Oxide Fuel Cells.
