Curriculum vitae

Chiara Mazzariol is currently a Ph.D. student within a cotutelle project between the Justus-Liebig University of Giessen (Germany) and the University of Padova (Italy), under the supervision of Prof. Klaus Müller-Buschbaum and Prof. Silvia Gross. Her research focuses on the synthesis in confined spaces of inorganic materials, taking into account both wet chemistry and solid-state approaches, and evaluating the effects of the confined space and of the synthetic pathway on the functional properties of the materials.
Born in Castelfranco Veneto (Italy) in 1995, Chiara studied Chemistry at the University of Padua, where she obtained her Bachelor degree (2018; mark: 103/110) and her Master degree (2020; mark 110/110 cum laude). Her Master thesis project concerned the synthesis in confined space and characterization of luminescent nanostructures of calcium molybdate doped with lanthanide ions. During her Master degree she spent six months at the Justus-Liebig-University in Gießen (Germany) as Erasmus+ exchange student (2019). In 2021 she worked as graduate fellow in the workgroup of Prof. Silvia Gross on the wet chemistry synthesis firstly of supported Pt nanoparticles with controlled size (in collaboration with Umicore AG & Co. KG.) and subsequently of crystalline copper(II) hydroxide (in collaboration with Manica S.p.A.).
