Francesca Lorandi
Assistant Professor (Junior)

Dr. Francesca Lorandi obtained her PhD in Molecular Sciences in 2018 at the University of Padova under the supervision of Prof. A. Gennaro, working on exploiting electrochemical tools to mediate controlled radical polymerizations. Later, she joined the group of Prof. K. Matyjaszewski at Carnegie Mellon University (Pittsburgh, USA) as a postdoc, focusing on the development of more sustainable methods for triggering controlled radical polymerizations, and on the design of well-defined polymer electrolytes for post-Li-ion batteries. In 2020, she was included among the Future Faculty awardees by the Division of Polymeric Materials: Science and Engineering of the American Chemical Society. In 2021 she returned to the University of Padova in the group of Prof. V. Di Noto, working on fuel cell electrocatalysts and battery electrolytes. In 2022, she joined the laboratory for Macromolecular and Organic Chemistry at the Department of Chemical Sciences as fixed-term researcher (RTD-A). She is interested in finely tuning the structure of polymer materials to modify their physicochemical properties and response in various environments.
