Project coordinator

Michele Maggini (b 1959, Laurea degree in Chemistry in 1984) is full professor of Organic Chemistry and, currently, head of the Department of Chemical Sciences of the University of Padova. His research interests focus mainly on the synthesis of molecular organic materials for solar energy conversion and on the development of flow chemistry platforms and methods for the synthesis of functionalized nanosystems, the study of reaction kinetics and of batch-to-flow transpositions of distressing or unsafe chemical syntheses (159 ISI publications and 3 patents. orcid: https://orcid.org/0000-0001-8149-5903; researcherID: A-1316-2011)

Silvia Gross
Silvia Gross, PhD in Chemistry, is currently full professor of inorganic chemistry at DiSC. Her current research activity, documented by about 135 scientific ISI publications (h-index 27) is focused on synthesis of inorganic and organic colloids and soft matter by wet chemistry and sustainable routes. The synthesis activity is complemented by characterization of the colloidal materials by different spectroscopic (XPS, XAS, Raman, FT-IR), and diffraction/scattering (SAXS, XRD) methods.

Valerio Causin
Valerio Causin is associate professor at the University of Padova. His research activity is centred on the structural and morphological characterization of polymers, by small-angle X-ray scattering, wide-angle X-ray diffraction, thermal analysis, rheology and optical and electronic microscopy. The latest development of his research is the introduction of sensitivity to pH and thermal stimuli into gels and electrospun fibres based on polymeric precursors, such as cellulose, polyacrylates or poly(ethylene glycols). He authored a monograph, more than 80 articles in international journals and five book chapters.
Daniel Forrer
Daniel Forrer is Research Scientist at ICMATE-CNR, Padova. PhD in Chemistry in 2010. In 2011 he was visiting fellow at the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa, where he learned the basis of molecular dynamics. 17 ISI publications; h-index 10. His research activity is focused on the computational modeling of complex chemical systems, with emphasis on the energetics and dynamics of processes at surfaces and interfaces.
